entering a realm of kawaii...

a couple of months ago i was lucky enough to visit a harajuku fashion based art exhibition run by harajuku haven. as someone who loves harajuku fashion and inspired art, spending my day here was bliss ! (☆▽☆)

there were many different art installations and designs of different kinds made by artists and designers who participated. ranging from soft pastels to bright, popping colours. after seeing all of the pieces made by everyone, i'm now desperate to make something of my own... all the unique clothing, accesories, art pieces and even magazines were so full of mesmerising cuteness and imagination. if you read on, i'm going to share a few of my favourite things i saw.

CANDYLAND

candyland was created by @candyc0nf3tti, a collab with @artymcfly.xo. it was made with their 'kawaii rubbish' from their personal collection from different countries and cafes. i personally love this installation for the amazing amount of different and unique items. above all, it's super cute!

REBELLIOUS SWEETHEAERTS

- LET'S HAVE A SWEET SUMMER

@glitterylilac, an artist and animator, created 'rebellious sweethearts' as her character brand. at first glance, you can tell the inspiration from japanese pop-culture and kawaii art. looking closer, the gorgeous details really show. the main piece was drawn on procreate and printed and decorated with sparkles and gems by hand.

MAED

this collection of clothes by mae are inspired by, and a cross between, girl-gaming and harajuku fashion. i'm obsessed with how well they capture the 'colorful essence of childhood games', which they were made to represent. the pastels are so cute and blend so well with the other bold elements of the standout designs.

HARAJUKU BLIND BOX

these super cute handmade figurines are by lyra, an artist and a wearer of decora kei - a harajuku fashion style. i love the diversity of different styles, especially the gyrau, gothic lolita and jirai kei figures. blind boxes are seen in almost every media (i've seen them for sanrio, oshi no ko and even spongebob!), which makes it fun to see art, inspired by something so popular, but still very creative.

there was so much to see at harajuku haven and many, many more artists to continue to discover. i hope in the future to attend more events like this and hopefully another by harajuku haven. i encourage you to check out the artists and designers mentioned, as well as the others which you can find here!

thank you harajuku haven for hosting this!!~ ⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝
